My Friend Annemarie - May 7, 1961 - November 25, 2011 from Charlie Corbitt on Vimeo.
I met Annemarie at a soccer tournament in Columbus, GA. I was there raising money for Soccer For A Cure. She was there with her daughter's soccer team. She visited my tent to find out what Soccer For A Cure was all about. I told her about Soccer For A Cure and that our objective was to raise money to help families struggling financially because of cancer. She told me she had breast cancer and that she wanted to work with SFAC sometime in the near future. From that point on we became fast friends. Over the next several years she, I and her daughter raised donations at several events.
Please make a donation in memory of Annemarie or in memory of a family member or friend. If you make a donation in memory of a family member or frined, please send the name and information about this persons battle. If you have the authority, give permission to add your friend or family member to this site.
No donation is too small or too large!
According to The American Cancer Society, in 2015, about 589,430 US residents are expected to die of cancer – that’s more than 1,600 people a day. Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease. Cancer accounts for nearly 1 out of every 4 deaths in the United States.
According to the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW), more than one half of cancer patients indicate "the costs associated with cancer negatively impact their focus on recovery", 66% of patients with major financial challenges suffer depression or anxiety, 29% delay filling prescriptions due to financial pressures, and 22% skip doses of their medications.
SFAC was created in 2008 with the objective of addressing the needs of families stressed because they have to choose between paying living expenses or cancer treatment. Will you Help Us Help families with these decision by making a donation?.
